Canberra Bach Ensemble presents Bach’s magnificent Trauerode BWV 198, for soloists, choir and period instrument orchestra. A profound work of mourning, consolation and hope, performed in the beautiful setting of St Christopher’s Cathedral. Two performances: 3 October 7.30pm and 4 October 2.00pm. 11 October | Feast Day Mass of Pope St John XXIII @ ANU | 05:00 pm
Join the Dominicans and the ANU Catholic Society to celebrate the Feast of Pope St John XXIII, the patron saint of the only Catholic residential hall at ANU. Fr William Loh OP of Sydney will celebrate Sunday Mass at the St John the Evangelist Chapel (51 Daley Road) at 5pm. Refreshments will be provided after Mass. All are welcome!
11 October | Missionaries of God’s Love celebrate 40 years | 11:00 amFounded by Fr Ken Barker in Canberra in 1986, the MGLs now serve in Australia, the Philippines and Indonesia, with a particular mission to young people and the poor. 28 October | October Veritas Lecture | Brick by brick. Enabling valued participation for autistic people through increasing the accessibly of environments. | 05:30 pm
This lecture will examine the everyday challenges autistic people face due to social stigma and inaccessible environments and systems, consider ways that allied health and social care providers, educators, medical professionals, and others can consider small and big ways to increase valued participation for autistic people through ameliorating inaccessible environments.

All welcome! The 2026 Archdiocesan Women’s Taskforce Annual event is Friday 30 October 2026, from 6.00 pm at the Canberra Southern Cross Club in Woden. Guest speaker, Ms Philomena (‘Phil’) Billington, an experienced educator, leader, and facilitator will share her experience of serving in five dioceses and four states in Australia, in both rural and urban settings.
