Celebrating Mother’s Day

On Sunday, 10 May, we joyfully celebrate Mother’s Day—a time to give thanks for the love, care, and faith that mothers and mother figures share with us.

In our diverse parish community, we recognise that motherhood is expressed in many beautiful ways across cultures and families. We honour not only mothers, but also grandmothers, godmothers, carers, and all women who nurture life, guide others in faith, and offer love and support.

We also remember with tenderness those for whom this day may be difficult—those who have lost their mothers, those longing to be mothers, and those carrying quiet burdens. May our community be a place of comfort and understanding for all.

Let us give thanks to God for the gift of life and for the many women who reflect His love in our world. May Mary, the Mother of God, be our model of faith, humility, and care.

We wish all mothers and mother figures a blessed and peaceful Mother’s Day.

Fr. Emil will offer a special blessing for all mothers at every Mass this weekend.
