Reminder: Beware of Scam Emails

Dear all,

We have recently become aware of scam emails being sent that appear to come from Catholic priests.

These messages are fraudulent. They often ask the recipient to urgently purchase gift cards, transfer money, or respond discreetly to a personal request. The sender’s name may appear to be that of a priest, but the email address is usually different or has been spoofed.

Please remember:

• Never purchase gift cards or send money in response to an unsolicited email.
• Always check the sender’s email address carefully, not just the display name.
• If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from a priest or anyone associated with the Archdiocese, do not reply or click on any links.
• If you are unsure whether an email is genuine, contact the priest or parish office directly using a known phone number or email address.

If you receive one of these scam emails, please delete it immediately.
